Which Role Do You Self-Identify With Best?
When did you start this Freelancing Journey?
Was there a trigger or inciting incident that made you make the leap into becoming a Freelancer?
Just value time, outdoors and life experience more than sitting in an office.
Describe a “week-in-the-life” of yourself as a Freelancer.
Fly to Barcelona, meet new people, work on my client’s project, fly to Mallorca, start a new tech association (“Island Hack”), meet more tech entrepreneurs, give PR advice, write a press kit, have a few Skype calls with colleagues to check in on if I can help them with anything, offer some connections, meet more cool people, fly back to Austin TX to change my wardrobe.
In one sentence, what do you identify as the main pain-point you are having as a Freelancer?
Loneliness of working as a 1-person team.
If you have an online Portfolio, or links to products or services that features your work (i.e. designs, articles, etc.), list them here!
What are three suggestions or pieces of advice for those who are considering ditching the traditional 9-to-5 lifestyle and stepping into the “freelancing” world?
- Be resourceful: search for people, info, ideas and places that feel good to you.
- Be careful with your money so you can have it when you need it.
- Give more than you ask for, one day someone will help you back, but start by giving.
